Preserving Utah theatre memory—production by production, credit by credit.
Have you ever looked at an actor on stage and known you knew them from somewhere, but could not quite place it? Have you ever pulled up IMDb during a movie or television show just to settle the question? I know I have.
UTDb is meant to meet that same need for Utah theatre: a place to trace productions, casts, crews, and the creative connections that keep showing up under the lights.
But a project like this only grows if more people help carry in the scenery. Do you have access to playbills or cast lists? Do you want to help the archive grow? Do you know somebody who does? Do you even care about anything? Great — you might be exactly who I want to hear from.
Pick what fits your access and curiosity—there is no single “right” way to pitch in.
Scans or photos of programs help lock titles, dates, and creative credits in place.
Even a partial list from an old show can connect people and productions across years.
Know a theatre blog, PDF season archive, or newspaper clipping? A link can unlock a whole trail.
Spotted a familiar face without a name in the database? Your memory fills gaps catalogs miss.
Logos, posters, and portraits—when rights allow—make records easier to recognize and trust.
If you are not sure where to start, these materials tend to unlock the most detail fastest.
